As Tokyo, Japan prepares for the arrival of the 2020 Olympics, the city is being enhanced with many new fitness-themed facilities and attractions, including a new urban basketball court by the name of 'Hoop/City.'
Hoop/City is set to open in September on the roof of the Studio Alta shopping complex in Shinjuku, which serves as a popular meeting place for people. The basketball court is smaller than usual in size but offers the perfect place for teams of three to play on a half-sized court. 3x3 basketball is set to be held for the first time at the 2020 Olympics, which means that this unique urban basketball court has the potential to give players an authentic playing experience.
The compact rooftop court appeals to both new and seasoned players, as well as others who may not be interested in the sport, as Hoop-City will double as a venue for other events.
