Contemporary Arts Museum Houston and adidas Basketball have debuted a museum-run basketball court called the CAMH COURT, the first playable basketball court in an art museum. The playable basketball court was developed and designed by artist Trenton Doyle Hancock to celebrate the NCAA Men's Final Four arriving in the city of Houston.
The playable basketball court is designed to match the parallelogram shape from CAMH's Brown Foundation Gallery. It also contains designs that fit the dimensions of a regulation basketball court. There are also illustrations from Trenton Doyle Hancock's striped Bringback characters and bright graphics spread across the floors, walls, and entrance of the room. In addition, there are also illustrations from Trenton Doyle Hancock on the backboard of the basketball hoops. The CAMH COURT is showcased until April 27.
