Uber Eats may announce a new subscription that lets you get unlimited food deliveries for a monthly fee of $9.99. The subscription feature hasn't officially rolled out yet, but a hidden code on the app (discovered by Jane Manchun Wong) revealed a prototype of the new feature.
Uber Eats did not negate the claim and said, "We’re always thinking about new ways to enhance the Eats experience.” The subscription food delivery service would greatly increase consumer loyalty with the current market being saturated with other food delivery apps. Currently, Postmates Unlimited and DoorDash DashPass all have similar models to what Uber Eats is proposing.
However, Uber Eats does have a unique value proposition with its ride-sharing services. If combined with food delivery services, it could create an Ultimate Uber subscription package where upfront monthly fees save users money and dole out some amazing perks. By having plenty of competitors in a market, it drives businesses to be innovative and customer-focused.
