Rundell Associates Designs the Two-Family House

London-based design firm Rundell Associates has completed the Two-Family House design in Cornwall, England. The home is defined by its use of Cornish stone paired with cross-laminated timber. It is developed into the cliffside on site, which was also once a quarry. Notably, it was made from 427 prefabricated panels with two types of local stone making up the ground floor.
Rundell Associates founder Mike Rundel explains the design, "We used local materials and craftsmanship to create a building that is uniquely embedded within its locale both visually and materially. It's especially pleasing that the building appears less prominent than other much smaller houses that have recently been constructed here, which do not attempt to blend into the magnificent seafront setting."
