Snapchat and TurboVote Have Partnered on a New Voter Feature
Justin Lam — September 25, 2018 — Tech
In celebration of National Voter Registration Day in the US, Snapchat has released a new feature in collaboration with TurboVote. This new tool is currently built into the app for all US users and allows them to register to vote within the app. All of this can be accessed through the User Profile page, which will include a link to register to vote. The feature also includes video messages from Team Snapchat, which showcases filters users can utilize to spread awareness about voter registration.
This partnership with TurboVote, a nonprofit voter registration organization, allows the nonprofit to reach a larger Millennial and Gen Z audience. Furthermore, the feature allows Snapchat to better showcase itself as a tool for democracy. This feature joins a handful of other offerings presented by other tech companies for National Voter Registration Day.
