Trophy cupcake trays are the latest DIY project from Blogger Cathe Holden of the site Just Something I Made.
Most people can attest to hoarding old trophies that serve no real purpose in the home except to indulge one's ego on a bad day; regaling over tales of one's former glory and achievements in the 'good old days.'
These souvenirs of past successes generally just pile up and collect dust, but now they can actually serve as attractive tiered holsters for delicious cupcakes.
By disassembling and then spray painting the triumphantly victorious figures from trophy tops, Holden created a clever way to reuse something that generally loses its value shortly after it is attained. With a few pie plates, some paint and the figures from the awards one can both sneakily keep their achievements on display while offering a place for yummy snack cakes to rest until they are devoured.
