Developed by City Developments Limited, Tree House Singapore is one of the most intriguingly economic developments in the world. It features a 25,000-square-foot garden on its exterior, which is being dubbed by Guinness World Records as the world's largest vertical garden.

The building, which is set to be ready in 2017, is not only being built for aesthetically pleasing reasons or to set a world record; it is being built to reap more that $500,000 in energy and water savings, annually.

"The eco-inspired Tree House has not only created a place where residents are proud to call home, but more importantly, a green icon which places Singapore on the world map," said the deputy chairman of CDL Mr Kwek Leng Joo.
