Wonderwoods Vertical Forest rethinks urban living in Utrecht with a pioneering blend of architecture and ecology. Designed by Stefano Boeri Architetti in collaboration with MVSA Architects, the 104-meter structure rises in the Beurskwartier district as Europe’s first vertical forest tower that opens its ground floor amenities to the public.
The building’s greenery, comprising thousands of plants, creates a vertical ecosystem that brings nature into daily life. Inside, mixed-use spaces include apartments, shared gardens, and a forest research hub that connects to a rooftop garden. This integration encourages community interaction while promoting health and sustainability.
Set within the city’s pedestrianized core, Wonderwoods establishes a new model for urban regeneration where biodiversity thrives at height and nature becomes part of the skyline. The tower marks a thoughtful evolution of the vertical forest concept, nurturing both people and plants in harmony.
