The term 'traditionalist electric bike' may sound like an oxymoron at first, but a closer look at the Coolpeds iBike reveals that this doesn't necessarily have to be the case.
The Coolpeds iBike happens to come equipped with a front hub motor capable of offering up 350 Watts of power in conjunction with a 36 volt lithium-ion battery. This setup allows the iBike to promise between 48 and 80 km of pedal-assist range and up to 48 km of all-electric riding. What makes this a traditionalist electric bike is the fact that its appearance is not unlike a classic bicycle.
The Coolpeds is a welcome addition to the e-bike market in that it manages to offer the functionality and performance of an e-bike at a price that is affordable to a wider demographic.
