The Toasted Cheddar Chalupa Features Cheese Baked onto the Taco Shell

Hailed by Taco Bell as "this year's biggest innovation," the chain's signature Chalupa is getting an upgrade in the form of the new Toasted Cheddar Chalupa. Set to make its debut on September 12, the new taco is the ultimate indulgence for cheese lovers.

Unlike the classic Chalupa, Taco Bell's new Toasted Cheddar Chalupa features a taco shell with six-month ages sharp cheddar cheese baked right in to create a deliciously crispy cheese crust. The taco can then be filled with your choice of protein, shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, more cheddar cheese, and reduced-fat sour cream.

For those in Charlotte, North Carolina, Taco Bell will also be testing a Bacon Club Toasted Cheddar Chalupa on September 12th.
