These Tillamook ice creams have been announce as a series of limited-edition frozen treats that are crafted with nostalgia, summertime vacations and freshly prepared baked goods in mind.
The ice creams come in the Salted Caramel Pretzel and Appel Crisp flavors, which are both crafted with childhood nostalgia in mind to work well for adult consumers seeking to enjoy some classic flavors this summertime. The Salted Caramel Pretzel flavor features vanilla ice cream swirled with salt, caramel and chocolate-covered pretzel pieces, while the Apple Crisp has vanilla ice cream, cinnamon oatmeal streusel and apple chunks for a pie-like experience. The treats are arriving in limited-edition pints at Kroger, Safeway and Publix for around six months.
Senior R&D Associate Scientist Hunter Clayton commented on the. new Tillamook ice creams saying, "To create the Apple Crisp flavor, we used a recipe from my mother as a base to help us translate apple crisp into ice cream. We all know the smell and unforgettable taste of a warm apple crisp, and what better way to tap into that nostalgia than a homemade recipe. When dreaming up the new Salty Caramel Pretzel recipe, our R&D team spent hours testing the combination of salted caramel and chocolate covered pretzels in our extra creamy vanilla ice cream to make this decadent flavor that’s perfect for summer."
