Artist Thomas Lamadieu went to several different cities around the world and photographed what he saw when he looked up; he then illustrated these imaginative images to fill the visible space of sky with these quizzical creations.
When looking at the Artists' finished creations, I can't help but think of fairy tales and whimsical stories. Thomas Lamadieu makes sky art by illustrating human-like characters and personified animal cartoons into the pictures he took from the ground looking up, trying to find sky between all the buildings. The illustrations look more like simple sketches weaved into the realness of the cityscapes and detailed urban structures, but that is what makes them so captivating.
Images like the elongated simplistically sketched owl and the bearded man playing peak-a-boo are my favorites, but the entire series is quite entertaining.
