From Literal Handmade Illustrations to Random Item Illustrations

 - Mar 4, 2014
Mixed media illustrations as an art form have been around for ages, but artists are constantly contributing their unique perspectives and interpretations to the world.

These illustrations take ordinary objects and turn them into something even more phenomenal than it was originally. A perfect example of this is art by October Jones, which adds a bit of excitement to his commute on the train by transforming the heads of other passengers into the faces of cartoon characters that have been drawn onto Post-It notes.

This form of art has been popping up a lot as of late on Instagram, with creatives like Javier Pérez and design studios like Dschwen uploading one whimsical mixed media illustration a day.
