The Rome Edition is the latest expansion by American entrepreneur Ian Schrager as he continues to grow The Edition Group. It is a hotel that was once a bank in the 40s defined by its unique lobby design and original marble staircases with a hidden front courtyard for guests to enjoy. There are 91 rooms at the hotel and features many of the original features including the aforementioned staircase, statues, and lamps.
The team explains the space, stating that "Built in the 1940s and formerly occupied by one of the main Italian banks, the building is a striking example of the rationalist style and was created by Cesare Pascoletti in collaboration with the famed architect Marcello Piacentini. The lobby is Edition at its most dynamic. It is a place to relax and make merry; a place to see and be seen or play a few games of pool on the custom-made table."
