China is to make history with the ongoing construction of the world's tallest ferris wheel.
At 680 feet, the $99 million Beijing Great Wheel is being built in Eastern Beijing's Chaoyang Park. The tourist attraction will have 48 air conditioned compartments with a capacity of 1,920 passengers.
The Great Wheel is scheduled to be opened to public on August 2008.
The world's tallest ferris wheel is designed by the same Dutch company that worked on the 443 ft. London Eye.
