Thrill Ride-Topped Ultra-High Skyscrapers

The Torch is to Include a Thrill Ride Over Manhattan

The up and coming New York supertall skyscraper dubbed the Torch is undergoing construction by studios ODS and SLCE. It is defined by its spiraling torch which is seen at the crown and planned to hold a thrill ride over the busy city. The idea is developed by Extell and this was unveiled in a book by Rizzoli last year.

The studio explained in the Rizzoli book, it is "Inspired by the iconic tops of the city's most famous buildings, the Torch makes a bold statement while adding to the city's skyline." The Torch is described by ODA as "one-of-a-kind experience, amusement park style, giant drop ride that slowly ascends 300 feet in glass tubes before releasing to a free fall."
