The beasts featured in The Creature Show art exhibit look like the long lost ancestors of characters in Pixar's animated film 'Monsters Inc.' Creepy yet cute, this series is in the same vein as the artist's Germs collection, though with a significantly diminished "eww" factor.
Painted by Travis Louie, who was born and raised in New York, The Creature Show art series focuses on traditional portraits that have a film noir quality about them. Painted completely in black and white, there is a softness about each image that gives them a hint of glamor. It is also this softness that give these monsters a rather harmless look.
The Creature Show art series will be shown at the Merry Karnowsky Gallery in Los Angeles.
