The Glen Ellen Pavilion, designed by Terry & Terry Architecture, serves a dual purpose as a dedicated wine-tasting space overlooking the vineyards and a functional pool house for a private residence. This structure represents a thoughtful act of reclamation, as the property's original buildings were entirely lost to the Tubbs fire in 2017, which spared only the existing swimming pool and the surrounding vines. Basalt stone pavers cover much of the terrace, while the primary structure is formed from concrete and topped with standing seam metal roofing. The materials were selected to reduce future fire hazards.
Perched on the eastern ridge of Glen Ellen, the site reveals impressive, sweeping vistas across Sonoma Valley and extending into neighboring Napa Valley. Terry & Terry Architecture was strategic with the architectural placement, set back slightly from the ridge crest to provide natural protection from the weather.
