The TataUFO App Matches Students From Chinese Universities

TataUFO is a Chinese-made social networking app that is specifically targeted towards college and university students.

The app was dreamed up by Brian Hyeon-woo Cheong, a South Korean student who studied at Guanghua School of Management at Peking University in Beijing. Cheong set up the app to facilitate social networking on campus. The app is now available to students at Peking University, Tsinghua University and Renmin University. What makes this app appealing is the fact that it offers friend matchmaking and recommendation features. The app has gone on to grow in popularity to the point that it has attracted big-time investors including SkyChee Ventures and Lightspeed Venture Partners.

Much like Facebook, the TataUFO social networking app was born in campus but its popularity could see it eventually open up to non-student users.
