Social Commerce Beauty Drops

Sephora Launches Exclusive Monthly Products on TikTok Shop

Sephora is expanding social commerce beauty drops with the Sephora Drop Shop, a TikTok Shop experience built around exclusive monthly product releases. Each drop will use teasers, interactive experiences and creator-led content before culminating in a TikTok LIVE featuring celebrity hosts, brand founders and creators. Viewers can learn about the featured products, ask questions and purchase them directly during the livestream. Products will initially launch exclusively through Sephora’s TikTok Shop before select items expand to other Sephora channels and retail partners.

For Sephora, the format turns product launches into recurring entertainment events while shortening the path between beauty discovery and purchase. Exclusive launch windows can encourage urgency and give partner brands focused exposure to TikTok’s beauty audience. The U.S. pilot also allows Sephora to gather consumer insights before potentially expanding the retailtainment model across its broader global network.
