Historical Floral Arrangements

Artist Taryn Simon Recreates Some of the Most Iconic Table Decor

When people think back on major historical events, it's not likely that they would think about the decor of the room let alone the possible floral arrangements that livened up the conference table -- that is, unless you're Taryn Simon. The New York-based artist has taken it upon herself to recreate some of the most iconic centerpieces of the most important political meetings to date.

Coming together as a solo exhibit titled Paperwork and the Will of Capital, Taryn Simon's floral works are quite impressive. She shares, "I started thinking about the flowers as silent witnesses listening to man’s determination to control the economic, geographic, and political fate of the world." This is a unique take on textbook learnings many will appreciate.
