ARM Architecture & Arup Complete the Sydney Opera House Renovation

The Sydney Opera House renovation was, without a doubt, a highly anticipated project, both from the perspective of the local community, as well as tourists who inevitably associate the city with this iconic structure. The overhaul presented opportunities to better the acoustics, functionality, and accessibility of the space. It was carried out for the building's 50th anniversary. Australian practice ARM Architecture and engineering firm Arup were the ones who expertly carried out the Sydney Opera House renovation. They received support from heritage advisors Design 5, theatre consultants Theatreplan, and construction firm Taylor.

Some of the exciting updates to the Sydney Opera Houe include 18 petal-shaped fibreglass reflectors for better acoustics, an automated tier system for the stage, and lifts to improve accessibility.
