Beach chairs tend to be poorly made and uncomfortable, merely offering people somewhere to sit other than a towel or the sand. Sunflow saw the opportunity for a better beach chair to be created and it collaborated with Fuseproject, the industrial design firm founded by Yves Behar, to develop a design to offer more comfort, portability and durability.
Complete with a headrest and armrests, the beach chair looks a lot like a spacious lounge chair but it collapses neatly into a small shape that can be carried with its own backpack straps. Unlike many cheaply made outdoor furniture designs, this beach chair boasts a high-quality, rust-resistant coated aluminum frame and synthetic, water-resistant fabric.
The design is built to last and the Sunflow chairs nearly sold out at a June pop-up in the Hamptons.
