Hardcore outdoors-folk are going to love the Succulent water collector. This gadget, looking more like a grass torch than a water catcher, is designed to collect early morning dew for drinking later in the day.

According to the Succulent water collector's designer Yu-ru Chen, hikers and climbers currently collect dew in plastic baggies which often end up littering trails. Succulent has been designed to reduce this waste by offering a reusable dew collector that needs only to be mounted in the ground come nightfall. The blades collect the dew and draw it down to a holding container where it can then be drank directly or transferred to a water bottle. While the Succulent water collector may not be flashy, it is a solid design that could quickly help to clean up some of the trash currently littering the great outdoors.
