Pasadena's Descanso Gardens to Add Sturt Haaga Gallery of Art

— August 9, 2009 — Eco
The Descanso Gardens in Pasadena, California is already an incredible green place, but with the addition of the Sturt Haaga Gallery of Art at Descanso, it's bound to get a lot greener.

The 2,800 square-foot, $2.1 million Sturt Haaga Gallery of Art at Descanso will debut in March 2010. The gallery will shoot for a silver LEED certification, and according to Tree Hugger, its green elements include end-block wood flooring, waterless urinals and low-flow toilets, a tankless water system, recycled linen insulation, formaldehyde-free drywall, low-VOC paints, plenty of skylights, and low-voltage fluorescent light on auto-dimmers.

The Sturt Haaga Gallery of Art at Descanso will showcase art from both world-renowned artists and regional artists alike; its picturesque garden setting should make for a gorgeous spot to enjoy art.
