Comprehensive Gallery Renovations

Carmody Groarke Releases Plans for the Dulwich Picture Gallery

The Dulwich Picture Gallery is an institution located in a London suburb. It was founded in 1817 and is known for being the world's first purpose-built public art gallery.

In 2023, the Dulwich Picture Gallery is embracing a renovation, and UK architecture studio Carmody Groarke is commissioned for the project. The overhaul includes various updates like restoring a Grade II-listed cottage and adding a 31-square-metre extension. The plan to develop a 160-square-meter timber pavilion to accommodate children's creative activities is also worth noting. The architects are also collaborating with landscape artist Kim Wilkie on "a meadow with a 150-tree 'art forest' and undulating landforms."

Following this refresh, the Dulwich Picture Gallery is surely going to draw in new visitors and tourists while delighting its regular public.
