Studio Modijefsky Crafts a Dutch Home in Two Parts showcases the renovation and expansion of a 1920s house overlooking the Rijn. The Amsterdam-based studio reorganized the interior around a central hallway and a skylit staircase that connects a sequence of custom-designed living spaces.
Walnut, marble, textured glass, copper accents, and bespoke millwork establish a consistent material palette throughout the home. The living room features a marble fireplace surround, integrated cabinetry, open shelving, and a custom L-shaped sofa upholstered in camel-toned wool, while the kitchen pairs a stainless steel island countertop with a dark walnut dining table.
The extension continues from the original ground floor and introduces a collection of hospitality-inspired spaces designed for entertaining guests. These additions include a bar finished with brass details, Zellige tiles, and terrazzo flooring, alongside a multifunctional area and a dedicated wellness zone. The wellness facilities incorporate a steam bath, sauna, and travertine-clad jacuzzi connected to an outdoor terrace with multiple seating areas.
