Portable Street Parkettes

WMB Studio Adds Greenery to London With Modular Outdoor Design

WMB Studios put together a creative city street park that adds greenery in the most unexpected places throughout the concrete-focused urban community. The design of features a series of red wooden bench panels that add local gardens in the streets of London.

Since cities are limited on space, WMB Studios found a way to add life to the community by expanding overtop of it to create new green spaces. The 'Parklet' is the concept the firm came up with that features a series of wooden scaffolding panels that are untreated so that the weather can naturally effect them. Among the zig-zagged design are pockets for trees, plants and flowers to bloom and grow.

The design concept is part of the Team London Bridge's Fresh Air Squares project that is hoping to bring more nature into the urban city.
