StageOne is another high-end digital plug-in made by Leapwing Audio that centers on the width and depth manipulation of audio. Without sacrificing the sounds mono-compatibility, or its sonic characteristics, StageOne is a special product to develop monophonic sounds into something more, making it an ideal application for mixing and mastering.
Using two-fader groups to alter the width, depth and mono spread, StageOne makes adjusting and remapping the stereo field truly effortless. Adjusting the width slider helps to stretch the sound while preserving its phantom-center, paired with a high-pass slider control to help eliminate lower bass frequencies up to 500 hz from the widened signals.
StageOne depth controls work more to bring the stereo field to life by adding reflections to give a greater sense of space. Depth’s second control for color uses a shelf filter shape to color or dampen the group's added reflections.
The mono-spread function then converts input mono signals to provide a wider spatial impression. Leapwing users will appreciate that the mono spread settings maintain mono-compatibility with the help of their unique filter design.
The StageOne plug-in is available for 199 Euros as a digital download through Leapwing Audio's website.
