Scent-Informed Retail Experiences

Sniffy Allows for Multi-Sensorial Communication When Shopping

The Sniffy machine elevates an original shopping experience with its new sensorial technology incorporated to allow customers to smell their products and even see it through the screen. Created by Alexandre Juving-Brunet, this is prototyped specifically for retailers that sell food and beverages, with the broadened scope of smelling different spices and perfumes as well.

The device displays a touchscreen with a camera to digitally scan items and diffuse the respective scents. Notably, this device plays a role in not only the consumer experience but also provides data for businesses. The camera is implemented to pick up human reactions to the scent to determine whether it is positive or negative and understand the overall desirability of certain products.
