'MovieScent' Uses Smell and AI to Achieve a 4D Experience

'MovieScent' from Elevated Perceptions is a compact piece of living room entertainment equipment engineered with immersion in mind to help movie, show and video game enthusiasts alike go deeper into the experience than ever.

The device works by being plugged into an existing home theater setup where it will work in real-time with artificial intelligence (AI) technology to disperse scents according to the on-screen action. The aromas are emitted through an atomizer into the space to achieve a 4D experience. The unit is reported to mimic smells from forests, the ocean, fresh-cut grass, a restaurant and a storm, while a scent neutralizer spray will clear the air after each scene to start fresh.

'MovieScent' is priced at $179.99 and is expected to receive more than 40 new scents in the next few months.
