Smithsonian Journeys' 'Treasures of Tuscany' Trip is for Families

Trips to Europe are more frequently associated with Millennial-aged travelers sowing wild oats than they are with family adventures, but travel company Smithsonian Journeys has created a trip through Italy that's perfect for people of all ages. 'Treasures of Tuscany: A Family Journey', as the experience is called, tailors the trip such that its appropriate for all ages, from kids to grandparents.

The Tuscan trip consists of a one-week stay at a traditional 14th-century villa outside of Florence, the biggest Tuscan city. Over the course of the trip, an expert guide from Smithsonian Journeys will take families through the medieval and Renaissance gems resplendent in Florence, Siena, San Gimignano, and Monteriggioni. Experiences include things like pizza- and gelato-making, drawing and painting classes, and tours of the Academia and Uffizi.
