Sky Central, the head office for the large British broadcaster, is designed to embrace the openness that is reflected in the company's name. Built in an industrial building, the new campus takes advantage of those classic design features to make a more inviting and pleasant space for the company's employees.
Sky Central was designed by several architecture and design firms, including AL_A, PLP Architecture, and HASSEL. The building has several floors, but each of these surround central wells that give the building a tremendous sense of open space. These wells are on the ground floor, but they are capped off by the roof of the building, giving the communal spaces a cavernous feel that is a metaphor for the kind of thinking that the broadcaster encourages.
