This skull artwork is part of the Disembodied collection by Revolucionario Design. An installation featuring the Wixáritari tribe-inspired pieces will be exhibiting on July 25th, 2014 at the Fortune Special Projects Space in Vancouver, Canada.

Designer Ricky Sosa collaborated with the Wixáritari community in Mexico to create the handcrafted skull artwork. The ceremonial traditions and mythology of the revered indigenous group inspired the highly spiritual and unique pieces of art. Each bone design is one of a kind and represents a specific element from the Wixáritari way of life. The collectable art collection demonstrates how a creative spirit dwells within the body. While skulls might have a morbid connotation, in many aspects of Mexican culture they also represent a sense of liberation.
