— May 27, 2025 — Art & Design
New York-based art sculptor Raul De Lara celebrates his Mexican heritage and history through art and the new Raíces/Roots exhibition showcases this. This is his debut solo museum show and it was presented in the Savannah College of Art and Design's 16th edition of the SCAD deFINE ART. This event is the annual series of art installations at the university.

De Lara notes, “My hope is that this exhibition highlights the richness and vibrancy that immigrants bring to the social fabric of this country and invites visitors to reconsider the role and contributions of immigrants in shaping our society. This exhibition represents my home country of Mexico, the Latinx community, the queer community, and those who choose to create beautiful things during hard times."
