UK-based hospitality chain Village Hotels recently introduced its self-service hotel kiosks that are powered by cloud-based management system hetras. The new partnership means that Village Hotels visitors can conveniently check in to rooms without having to consult a traditional concierge.
The hotel chain's hetras management system is also connected to an accompanying app that can be accessed via visitors' mobile devices. This hotel's mobile check-in capabilities are reflective of a growing hospitality industry shift that sees the rise of self-service hotels and robotic employees that are slowly replacing traditional maids, delivery personnel and front desk staff.
Though forward-thinking, these implementations are no longer conceptual and are slowly being rolled out in hotels across the globe.
