Streamlined School Supply Drives

Clorox's Charitable Drive Aims to Support School Supply Shopping

— July 21, 2016 — Social Good
School supply shopping is a particularly stressful task for teachers, particularly those who are forced to pay out of their own pockets to equip their classrooms due to a lack of funding support from their school districts.

In order to ease the burden on these teachers, the Clorox Company has partnered up with the charitable website DonorsChoose to provide $100,000 to schools in need. The project allows customers to donate and then have their contributions matched dollar-for-dollar by Clorox. Additionally, customers who spend $5 or more on a purchase will receive $1 that they can donate or redeem for discounts off future purchases. This customer-focused charitable drive will be supplemented by pop-up shops in low-income areas of Chicago and Philadelphia that will support free distribution of school supplies and products, so that some teachers and students can stop worrying about school supply shopping altogether.

This charitable drive is a great example of a multi-pronged corporate social responsibility approach that involves customers in different ways. 00,000 in donations)
