The Sant Daniel House, located in Girona, Spain, was renovated and extended by SAU Taller d'Arquitectura. The double-height living area is crossed by a small wooden bridge and sits at the center of the Girona home. This space is sandwiched between party walls and boats a tiny 3.5-meter width and a 12.5-meter length.
The architects on the job aimed to create continuous views along the space's length. A central axis on both floors of the two-story home cuts lengthwise throughout. To increase ventilation throughout the home and provide natural light to all the rooms, the team had to empty the initial volume in the space. The interior walls were painted white to create an additional sense of openness, accompanied by raw and neutral materials.
