Meandering Geometric Training Facilities

The Rowing High Performance Centre is Simply Functional

Local Portuguese architect Alvaro Andrade recently designed and created the Rowing High Performance Centre located in the countryside of Portugal in the Douro Valley. The training facility is located in one of the most beautiful valleys in the world and aims to provide a place for accommodations and training purposes for its star athletes.

The result is an extremely modern and angular structure that responds to the demands of the center's location. The center is located at a steeped angle and has three separate structures that include the training areas, accommodations and a social space for the athletes. The meandering geometric building is completely white, allowing the structure to protrude against the luscious green hills.

The interior spaces are extremely clean and modern, like the overall design aesthetics of the structure, with featured large glass panels to provide an expansive view of the landscape.
