Henning Larsen Designs the Klaksvik Row Club in Faroe Islands

Global architecture studio Henning Larsen designs the Klaksvik Rowing Club, which is located next to the fjord. The club is defined by its sloped green roof and timber build, honoring Farow Islands and its sports heritage. It is situated in a larger urban space of Klaksvik and the club is added as an important contribution to the area's urban development project. The studio notes that this process is currently about 40 to 60 percent complete.

Ósbjørn Jacobsen, design director of the studio explains the notion behind the space. It states, "Our design approach was deeply rooted in the landscape and culture of Klaksvík. The sloping green roof and timber facade pay homage to the surrounding natural beauty, while also nodding to the traditional architecture of the Faroe Islands; a harmonious dialogue between the built environment and the fjord landscape."
