Kenya-based mobile provider Telkom recently introduced a new roaming bundle that targets families living in the region, as well as in Rwanda, Uganda and South Sudan.
The service hopes to save users money by cutting costs on frequent calls they would make anyway. Titled the "Mashariki Roaming Bundle, the product is part of Kenya’s third largest telco mandate that is purposely put in place to encourage users to reach family and friends sans incurring high bills."
Telkom's Mshariki Roaming Bundle is ideal for mobile users who primarily communicate via voice calls or text messages and includes two package options -- the 'Mashariki KES 500' consisting of 65 minutes of talk and a 130 SMS cap, and 'Mashariki KES 1000' which includes 130 mins of talk and an added 260 minutes.
