With the push from consumers for more sustainable and eco-friendly products, Pete and Gerry's, Organic Eggs launched the industry's first reusable egg carton. The reusable egg cartons are made from recycled BPA-free plastic and are designed to be refillable from the display of loose eggs. These eggs will also be offered at a discounted rate as compensation for the initial $2.99 investment in the reusable packaging.
These new cartons will be available at four Co-Op Food Stores in New Hampshire and Vermont. "We plan to expand this program in 2020 to reach even more consumers and amplify the program's impact with major retailers clamoring for this type of sustainable innovation," said Pete and Gerry's Organic Eggs CEO Jesse Laflamme, in a release. This new sustainable option will help drive conscious consumers into these grocery retailers.
