Modern Retirement Residence Concepts

Taktik Design Designed Cloria, a Thoughtful Retirement Space

Cloria, a retirement residence concept developed by Taktik Design, has created an inspiring living environment in Beloeil, Quebec, where the shared common spaces have been thoughtfully designed to break free from traditional senior living conventions. Instead, the project's design is meant to encourage autonomy, freedom, and a genuine desire for social connection.

The interior design strategy for the retirement residence concept prioritizes a contemporary and universal aesthetic language over the institutional or clinical codes typically associated with retirement homes. Cloria's interior features clean lines, light fabrics, a restrained palette of concrete, metal, and pale wood, and custom-designed furniture that balances ergonomic functionality with visual warmth. The layout organizes around a landscaped circular hub with a custom planter at its center, from which corridors extend in a star configuration that encourages intuitive wayfinding and spontaneously creates opportunities for residents to meet, exchange conversation, or join activities.
