TidalSense Raises $19M for Its Respiratory Diagnostic Platform

TidalSense raised $19 million to expand its AI-powered respiratory diagnostic platform across Europe and prepare for entry into the U.S. market. The Cambridge, UK-based company’s N-Tidal Diagnose system is designed to identify chronic obstructive pulmonary disease without traditional spirometry.

Patients breathe normally into a handheld device for 75 seconds, producing a carbon dioxide waveform that TidalSense’s AI models analyze for signs of COPD. The company says results are available in under five minutes, while healthcare professionals can be trained to use the device in about 10 minutes. Its models were trained on more than 2.5 million patient breaths.

For patients and clinicians, the platform could make COPD testing faster and more accessible in settings without specialist spirometry resources. TidalSense will use the funding to accelerate commercialization, support U.S. expansion and extend the platform to additional respiratory conditions, including asthma.
