Crowdsourced Gadget Repairs

The Repair Cafe Network Encourages Community Interaction and Upcycling

The Repair Cafe is a network of individuals organizing free meet-ups centered around community engagement and teamwork. Hosted in almost every major city, the Repair Cafe is usually held as a monthly meeting at which community members can get help repairing items they would otherwise throw out because they don't know how to fix it themselves.

This innovative network of individuals is taking a unique approach to cutting down on waste and is a way to retool how we view our possessions and our consideration of the lifespan everyday products.

The first Repair Cafe meetup was held in Amsterdam in 2009 by Martine Postma and has since grown into a full-on movement, fronted by her organization, the Repair Cafe Foundation.
