Children-Collaborative Design Pavilions

Matt+Fiona Create the Reflect Pavilion in London's Camden

Architecture educator Matt+Fiona joined forces with youths to explore their minds when creating the Reflect pavilion. The steel structure is a performance space nestled in London's Camden borough, and it is topped with angled mirrors to reflect the surroundings. It was created by Matthew Springett and Fiona MacDonald with a group of 18 'young placemakers.'

The co-founder of the studio, Matthew Springett spoke to Dezeen about the structure, noting, "The Young Placemakers took the brief and truly made it their own, thinking of play in its loosest sense, integrating ideas about playable landscape and play as performance. This resulted in the playful but unconventional Reflect, which uses its mirrored surfaces to encourage audiences to play and be part of performances."
