The sight of 400 red suspended umbrellas could almost look like the lanterns that are displayed in Asian festivals. A mall in the city of Talca was adorned with this rainproof roof to create a visual impression of the people who live in a quiet and more or less unknown city.
Could we be seeing more of this competitive nature from smaller cities as they strive for recognition in this world?
Implications - Not only is this interesting design effective and functional, but it also serves as a beautiful art piece. It definitely proves that urban infrastructure can be visually vibrant while also being fully functional.
