Rustic Recycled Art

Moerkey Transformed Old Keys and Coins into Beautiful Art

Australian artist Moerkey uses old unwanted keys and coins to create beautiful recycled art pieces. His projects take aged metals out of retirement and gives them a new life. No longer good for locks or currency value, the forgotten items take new forms such as bowls and sculptures.

After collecting mass amounts of these materials, the artist fuses them together and bends them into the desired shapes of often practical items. You can have a bowl for your keys made out of keys! Other uses for the recycled art are fruit bowls, lamp shades and rustic candle holders. Less practical pieces make wonderfully unique decor items such a female torso and replica football.

After teaching himself to be a masterful woodworker and photographer, Moerkey is new still exploring the world of fused metal.
