CVS pharmacies are expanding its contactless options for consumers, and it will now accept QR payments through both PayPal and Venmo. QR payments will allow consumers to pay for their items without needing to touch anything at the point-of-sale, which can help to keep consumers and employees safe during the pandemic. Additionally, if consumers have more contactless options, they may be more willing to go into CVS pharmacies to make purchases due to increased safety measures.
In order to use the new QR payment method consumers can scan a QR code at the checkout, following that they can enter the payment amount and select 'send.' Payments can also be completed on PayPal without any associated user fees.
