Pierre Paulin Designs the Pumpkin Chair for Ligne Roset

French designer Pierre Paulin first designed the Pumpkin chair in the 1970s and it has been relaunched by furniture imprint Ligne Roset recently. It was created in 1971 for Georges Pompido's private apartment. The chair is defined by its rounded shape, which is created by molded stripes of wood wrapped in foam and nods to the shape of a pumpkin, hence the namesake.
The rest of the pumpkin series is made up of a swiveling armchair, a sofa, an ottoman, and a loveseat. It comes in the upholstery options of leather or fabric and colored wool. Ligne Roset explains, "Easy on the eye with its round contours and expressive personality, it beckons one to sink into it and linger."
